Slits and cutouts have made their way onto pretty much every piece of clothing imaginable. These little (or big) windows of flesh allow designers to play with classic silhouettes and add their own unique touch.
I have been swooning over Sandy Liang’s line now for quite some time now. Every single piece makes a statement… so it came as no surprise when I saw what might be the coolest take on a skort ever. The gingham uniform-like piece gets a modern update with playful proportions and a peek-a-boo effect. Because the skirt is long, I decided to add a cross-strap crop top... just enough to show a bit of skin without bearing it all. A leather bomber jacket and Balenciaga thigh-high boots add the perfect dose of cool to the once school-girl labeled piece.
