Shoes occupy a similar place in a fashion-lover’s heart as handbags. While I didn’t inherit the bag obsession gene, I did however inherit the shoe one (for better or for worse…)

If you are a shoe-aholic like myself, it is pretty much always a no brainer that when it comes to shoes we splurge. With seemingly endless options each season, it becomes harder & harder not to want to test-drive the newest trends. An instant connection and NEED TO HAVE purchase can result in a 1 time wear.

Been there.

Done that.

Based on my own personal experiences and purchases, I am breaking down the extensive list of shoes that I think are WORTH the splurge.

1. Christian Louboutin

It only seems appropriate to start my list with Christian Louboutin. If you happened to catch my mini shoe tour on Instagram, you probably heard me mention that I would choose a boot/bootie or a T-Strap style over a classic pump.

With that being said, I find that most people gravitate toward a Louboutin pump for their first designer shoe purchase. There is just something so glamorous and a certain appeal that comes with owning a pair of the infamous red bottoms. However, after owning quite a few pair now, I find that my boots and T-straps get worn way more than any of my pumps. For me, they are more comfortable and for the most part can be worn year-round. Don’t get me wrong, they are all beautiful but, if you are looking to get more bang for your buck (especially for your first pair!) I recommend going that route.

2. Combat/
Moto- Boots

Number 2 on my list? A good combat or moto-boot
(These are in no particular order FYI)

There’s no doubt that these are a winter staple, but depending on the exact pair you opt for, you can rock these all-year round! I know I do. No matter your personal style, these deserve a spot in your wardrobe...an easy way to feel polished AND cool. A few favorites include the Gucci leather pair pictured above, the Balenciaga cut-out moto-style and the LV desert platform boot.
New styles I’m into:

3. DESIGNER SNEAKERS

I didn’t really start splurging on sneakers until the last year or so, but let me tell you…investing in a pair of sneakers that are as cool as they are comfortable is non-negotiable. Plus, will always earn you extra street-style points. The sneaker has become a fully acceptable footwear choice not only for the gym, but for jeans, dresses, and everything in between.

4. Statement Boots

Instead of a statement heel, try adding a statement boot or bootie to your shoe collection. Knee-high and thigh-high styles are huge right now. Think- colors, embossed-leather, different textures etc…a shoe that takes center stage and can make a sleek statement is always worth the splurge.
