Today I am mixing on trend pieces in an unexpected way. I purchased this skirt from Asos at the beginning of the summer with the feeling it was going to sell out (it did) …everything always goes super fast on that site. It is very unique with tiered ruffles and frayed hems.
I am usually such a ‘heel’ girl over flats but I have been trying to shoot more looks where I dress down apparel and make it more practical to wear during the day. With that being said, I decided to pair today’s main piece with a lightweight sleeveless knit, fedora, and classic slip-on sneakers. The allover stripes print gives the look character…making it a little polished yet also a little undone.

I cannot explain to you how much I love this set (and pretty much any cute set for that matter) They are just the best for summer and make it way too easy to get dressed. I purchased this one from Revolve, and they have soo many other adorable options as well. Many of the pieces I end up buying are flirty, effortless, and have numerous styling options.
The sleek stripes and tiered layers set me up to buy this one (pun intended). I immediately fall for anything girly. I don’t know what it is with me and ruffles these days, but I cannot stop (even though they can be such a pain to iron). This is by the brand Privacy Please. The sun is shining and we are in for another great day today, so I thought I would wear these shorts from last year with a great top from intermix that I fell in love with. (It is another item on sale right now). So Crisp and clean looking, yet the ruffles add a little flirty fun and paired with the polka dot in the shorts with the scalloped edge, what's left to say? I wanted to add a little sophistication so I decided on heels rather than a flat sandal to pump up my look. While they do not have this particular pattern this year, they are still available in a wide variety of colors. The go to one piece is style simplified…no mixing or matching necessary. Slip into a striking jumpsuit then step out. My favorite part about wearing any style onsie is that it makes getting ready so much easier. You never have to run around searching for the perfect top or bottom. You pick out your shoes, add some jewls, and bam! You are done. You can grab your bag and out the door you go.
The romper I have on today is by Alexis. The entire line is so stunning. It has a lot going on in all the right ways as it comprises both ruffles and lace (my favorite.) Today I decided to share one of my favorite skirts!! It is a little older now but I am still as in love with it as I was the day I bought it. I love mini skirts…especially ruffled and layered ones for spring and summer. They are stylish, youthful, and have so many styling options.
This one from Alice & Olivia I actually wore on my 22nd birthday. Black floral appliqués dress up the scalloped tiers of the party-ready skirt. It may remind you a little bit of an older post I did Heart of Gold (another favorite of mine).

These black jeans detailed in ruffles from the knee to the floor are probably one of the coolest sample sale finds ever. The ruffles are so chic and girly. Pieces like this are my favorite because they are so unique and it is difficult to find similar items. On top I went with a sleek jacket with a soft leopard-printed for a polished look. The jacket is now a sale…I would say a must to purchase!! I paired my Stuart Weitzman black calf-hair booties to finish off this outfit. Shop this look and similar items below:

I tend to forget how unexpected and cool gold outfits and accessories can be. Most people only experiment with sparkles and sequins around the holidays, but there are so many different ways to incorporate gold into your look. I have had this skirt in my closet for so long and have never had the chance to wear it. It was a sample sale find at Alice and Olivia. When I got these Chanel pink felt short boots for my birthday I could not wait to pull it out!! They are probably one of my favorite editions to my fall wardrobe so far and they added just the right amount of color to this fun look. I was able to tone the skirt down a bit by pairing it with a white blouse, yet the gold hearts keep the outfit cohesive.
Don’t be afraid to add the sparkle or sequin for day wear and remember... “A little party never killed nobody”.

I have had this mini skirt from A.L.C. for so long now and could never seem to pair it with the right top/shoes. The top part of the skirt is actually a gray sweatshirt material and then finished off with chic white pleats at the bottom. After purchasing this muscle tank by Alexander Wang (also sweatshirt material) I wanted to try it on “just to see what it would look like” with the skirt and I ended up loving the combo. It is sporty yet still girly. For shoes I went with a pair of white slip-on hightops from Zara.
For those who are wondering about this super cool necklace…it was a present from Ellie Vail Jewelry (www.ellievail.com) I am so obsessed with it and have been wearing it nonstop. When I had on this outfit I knew this had to be the necklace for it. The heartbeat rhythm reminded me of the black graphic tee I wanted oh sooo bad from Alexander Wang with the red heartbeat circling it from front to back.
And last but not least…today let me formally introduce you to KARLITO!! I just love him. He was an early birthday gift from my mother (you da bomb Gail). I added him to my mustard color Givenchy bag for a pop of color and fun. Shop similar below.
