Hello everyone,

Well, as you have seen on my Instagram, I just got back from Aruba and I had the most amazing and relaxing time. Every year I take two or three vacations with my family and we have been there several times because the Island has the best food, nicest people and pretty much guaranteed great weather. Two years ago we stayed at the brand new Ritz Carlton, which we loved but it is very quiet so this year we decided to go back to the Marriott Stellaris where there is much more activity. The grounds are beautiful and the sun was sizzling, so much so that we had to spend a little less time than usual on the beach. You are right at the equator so you can just imagine how great the weather really is. I cannot say enough about the food and we have several restaurants we frequent, never being disappointed.

We kept it a little more low key than usual this year not fussing as much for dinner, more sandals less on the heels, hair and makeup, which was kind of nice but doesn't always make for the best pics so I will restyle and repost some of my outfits when weather permits. In the meantime I'm back in the Northeast and back on the blog.

I wish I had this maxi dress while in Aruba…it just screams for clear blue water and pink sand. It has that princess feel to it with the flowy bottom. I paired it with pink pumps, and a light blue Edie Parker clutch for a little more color. I hope you like it as much as I do! You can get this look below.

If you follow me on Snapchat (laurrecc) then you may have seen me wearing this dress in Aruba trying to get “the shot”….I ended up not getting the best ‘shot’ of my outfit (I blame it on you Catherine!!!)  JK. Anyway, this dress is one of my favorites so I had to make sure I posted it on the blog.

I love the embroidered stars throughout and the ruffled detail at the bottom. Lately I have been so drawn to ruffles and pleats for the spring and summer. They are so feminine and fun. Everything is all about the ‘kicks’ these days. It makes sense for the girl always on the run…they are practical and most of all comfortable…and you can pair them with pretty much anything. My kicks today have mesh side panels making them that much cooler!!

Happy Monday Everyone!!!

I do not know about you, but I definitely have found love in this graphic oversized tee designed by Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci.  What really interests me is that Tisci gets a majority of his inspiration from the streets and the diverse culture of America. As a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology….I spent four years studying different ideologies of society and the deeper meanings behind both human relationships and institutions.  I thought of sociology after I watched a brief video I found on the internet (that you can watch here) Tisci takes his personal thoughts and experiences and dives into his creative work. You may see repetitive symbols such as stars, Bambi, basketball, rottweiler’s, and even sayings such as the one on today’s tee “I Feel Love”…and they all hold meanings.

It only makes sense that I went with a very distressed and streetstyle look with denim, black booties, and a black leather choker. These Fendi bug Chelsea boots are my latest shoe purchase and I just am TOO obsessed!! Anyway…you can get this look and similar by shopping below:

Your 70s style inspo starts with a jumpsuit…and ends somewhere between patchwork embellishments and vintage finds. The appliques on this pair of dungarees are lighthearted and they add a special touch. I tied a vintage Celine scarf around my neck and added white low top converse for a pieced together look and timeless appeal.

I am headed to Aruba next week and I definitely can see myself traveling in this number (or one of my many other vacation finds) because 1. it is comfortable and 2. most importantly… very cute.

Today’s look reminds me of the salsa dancer emoji (in a good way). It is ruched to perfection and the red floral print is TOO good for spring!! This dress can be easily taken day to night with a change of shoes.

I am really excited to share today’s look because not only it is super cool, but perfect for those of you who are festival bound soon…not to mention…it’s under $40 (excluding the denim jacket).

I love flares because they always make your legs look extra long. This allover floral print pair are knit and really comfortable. I paired them with a rust halter and oversized denim jacket for a very relaxed look..ideal for going into the weekend. This daisy choker adds a little bit of a hipster touch.

This orange cotton sweater is the perfect now-and-later- layer. With the weather so up and down lately, getting dressed in the morning can be pretty confusing. With that being said, today I added an optional blazer and a simple pair of jeans. What I am really loving is this vibrant statement cuff found on sale at J.Crew for around $8 (so crazy). Hey Everyone!!

I finally shot a bunch of new looks on Friday and I cannot wait to share them all with you! I gave today’s white look a modern twist with a black leather choker and my new favorite belt from B-Low the belt(a current must have!)

If you are ever looking for a great pair of wide-leg pants…check out Alice & Olivia. I now have a pair of these trousers in white, black, and orange. They are great and I love the fluid movement of them. 

For accessories I added my calf-hair booties and my new yellow mini croc bag from Henri Bendel. I am loving the unexpected pop of yellow mixed with the spotted print…so fierce!  This bag also comes with an optional crossbody strap so it is perfect for busy summer days running around the city. Spring Fever

I have been having serious spring fever. I am over the cold and SO over my winter clothes!! I have been trying to incorporate more color into my outfits along with some lighter weight pieces. This midi skirt from Maje for instance has a neoprene-like finish and all-over print…you could do a lot with this. Today I decided to go with one of my favorite and classic layering pieces…a sleeveless shell (also see the matching cardigan) they always seem to work with just about anything. The sunset pink color adds a fun touch to the green and blue print. This look is still shoppable. See Below:

I have officially checked out of New York Fashion Week and checked into my new shawl-like coat that I do not plan on taking off anytime soon. The earth tone colored plaid is neutral therefore very wearable and the belt at the waist is removable also giving this coat some versatility. Today's look is all about layering neutral pieces for a luxe look. Layering different textures of clothing is fun and chic. Set the tone with dramatic hardware and modern details. Military-inspired pieces make a statement. Today’s ‘Alexander Military Blazer’ was an exclusive piece for Intermix, and unfortunately is sold out…but don’t worry you can still easily get this look! Happy Valentine’s Day Loves!!!

I shot this all white look last week before heading to New York City for fashion week. Red accent pieces make it perfect for Valentine’s Day and the soft fringe adds a cute and cozy feel. I'm kind of over the winter clothes so, I am starting to incorporate some new spring stuff into my looks. As the seasons change, I am finding myself drawn a little more to color then I normally would be. I'm not quite sure if it's a permanent thing or if it's just giving me a little lift after the winter. I guess we will see how it goes. 

This week is fashion week in New York and I am so excited to be attending some of the shows and head out for some fun with friends. Yesterday I got lucky enough to shoot a bunch of great new looks before the cold weather struck again (hence today’s mini skirt). A floral print helps to brighten up our current stuck in winter minds…so why not. I paired this mini with a classic black turtleneck and oversized blue wool-blend coat. It has a wrap-like silhouette and belt, which cinches in the waist for a cozy feel.

A cheerful Edie Parker Yes clutch also brings a more springy vibe to this look. This one is no longer available, but I picked out a few other favorites of mine below. I am a little late to the game with my knee-high boots, but I got the best deal on this pair, which I am obsessed with…so you can expect to see them a lot in the next week (oops!!) I recently purchased this faux fur coat from Edun and what a great purchase it was. The coat retailed for $2,000 and I was lucky enough to nab it for a mere $399. What a steal and boy is it warm on these cold and windy days. It is one you can wear for an evening of dress or just throw it on with a pair of jeans, which is what I did today.  It has become my new go to for outdoor wear and I love how it looks paired with these calf hair booties. Hi Everyone!!

Back on the blog today, I guess we should consider ourselves pretty lucky considering it's just now gotten to the point of freezing out and it's the end of January. Winter is passing quickly and I'm already planning my get away to warmer weather. Looks like maybe sometime in March so I have been shopping lately for those swim suits and warmer weather clothing which has started appearing in stores and on line.

In the meantime today I'm all black and white, wearing leggings a turtleneck, my Stuart Weitzman boots and this black and white grid coat from BB Dakota, which is lighter weight and will carry me well into the spring. I fell in love with this black cap from Stella McCartney and I just want to wear it all the time. It is just so chic.
