One of the reasons I love plaid is because it is so versatile. This coat from Intermix can be worn with gray, tones of red, pink, or as you see here I paired it with a lavender sweater and cream colored jeans. You can dress it both up with a skirt or down with  trousers. It just seems to work with a lot. If you are a neutral girl,  the colors are muted to give you just enough of what you need without being too bold.

There is something about flared skirts that take me back to my childhood…they are fun, flirty and very feminine. When it comes to my personal style, I have never considered myself to have one in particular. When picking out my clothing, my style can vary depending on a number of factors including my mood or what I am willing to try…but that is the fun part about fashion. You never have to be the same and can experiment. One day I may feel all pink and girly girl, and the next day I may feel like being in all black and very edgy. Today is clearly girly and fun outfit with the flare, yet a little laid back paired with a sweatshirt…the best of both worlds!

You can never go wrong with a track pant. This pair of Townsen track pants are made of modal and spandex, and have an elastic waist which gives them a relaxed and comfortable fit. You do not ALWAYS have to spend a lot of money on apparel and accessories…it's all about mixing the highs and lows!! It's nice to splurge once in a while, especially on shoes and bags (because they're so expensive) but if you pay attention to fabrics, trims, prints, etc. you can create a fabulous outfit for half the price. Here I paired a Theory sweater (a little on the pricey side) with a skirt from Forever21. I think it looks adorable!!

The jeweled collar and cutout sleeves add elegance to this classic a-line dress, and the winter white color carries the dress right into the holiday season. I wore simple jewelry to prevent "too much" from going on with the neckline and sleeves and paired it with patent leather burgundy pumps to add a bit of color.

I love this stylish black mini dress covered in layers of textured daisies…it's a little more on the dressier side, but definitely a dress that will turn heads. Pair it with boots or heels and add some simple accessories and you're ready for a night out. I wore  my Saint Laurent black boots and my hair pulled back for a 'rock glam' vibe.

Don't pack away the mini skirts yet…it's all about layering!! Every girl needs to have staples in their wardrobe that are perfect for layering in all seasons (A white blouse, a chambray shirt, the perfect LBD). You can transition an outfit like this a little later by simply adding a pair of tights. I love the look of the chambray shirt under this elephant sweatshirt I needed to have!! and who doesn't love a good cause?! 100% of the net proceeds of this sweatshirt go to rescuing and protecting orphaned elephants.
