Yesterday I got lucky enough to shoot a bunch of great new looks before the cold weather struck again (hence today’s mini skirt). A floral print helps to brighten up our current stuck in winter minds…so why not. I paired this mini with a classic black turtleneck and oversized blue wool-blend coat. It has a wrap-like silhouette and belt, which cinches in the waist for a cozy feel.
A cheerful Edie Parker Yes clutch also brings a more springy vibe to this look. This one is no longer available, but I picked out a few other favorites of mine below. I am a little late to the game with my knee-high boots, but I got the best deal on this pair, which I am obsessed with…so you can expect to see them a lot in the next week (oops!!) This look is shoppable below. Thanks for stopping by today!!

This sweater is one of my favorite winter purchases. The oversized silhouette gives you so many options for styling and layering…even the possibility of layering it over the perfect dress. Today I decided on a yellow mini skirt and leopard beanie for a hip yet ultimately casual look. You can create this look with pretty much any solid mini and oversized sweater/top. It is perfect for the around-town gal who wants to look cool yet not overdone. You can shop this look and similar below. Thanks for stopping by!! XOXO
Many of you may know my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots are my everyday winter go-to’s…literally worth every penny. However, the newer version with shearling trim may be my new found love. A necessary neutral and very sophisticated.
Today I have on a borrowed-from-the-boys oversized shirtdress layered under an oversized knit with high side slits. I figured I may as well take advantage of the so called “warmer” weather before winter actually hits us. You can shop this look and similar below. Thanks for stopping by!!
I am unsure why it is soo hard to find a nice oversized black sweater…but it is. This one by Vince is a bit of a splurge, but it will take you through fall and winter with ease. It is incredibly soft and can look chic from day to night.
It may have been really nice out these last few days, but winter aka beanie weather is around the corner and all of the cute ones always sell out fast. This snowflake pompom one is by Autumn Cashmere. They always have super cute sets. Last year I purchased a matching leopard beanie, scarf, and glove set which is still one of my favorites from them. Unfortunately, this snowflake one is currently not available online but I will keep checking in and keep you posted. Below, I rounded up pieces from this look and some of my favorite winter beanies this season. Keep in mind that cold weather accessories can make awesome holiday gifts!!
So happy to be back on the blog today, yet so sad summer is coming to an end. I just got back from vacation on Saturday and I am missing the beach oh soo much. The weather was perfect and I am not looking forward to the winter.
Today I am wearing an ivory tunic (now on sale), which actually fits as a dress on me. It is VERY oversized and has a polo/tennis feel to it. The contrasting ribbon stripes make it very easy to pair with all of your favorite neutral accessories, which is why I added my two-tone Reed bag to bring in some other colors. The dress is also available in black. Shop this look below:
Let’s hear it for wide-leg trousers!! I picked up this pair at an Alice and Olivia sample sale a few months ago in the city.
There is a certain swagger to the large amounts of fabric…and endless styling options. This orange pair sits very high on the waist and since I am not the biggest fan of crop tops I went with a loose tank and rolled it under. The glitter on the top adds enough adornment so I decided no necklace. By keeping the top half simple and high wedges on on bottom makes this look very easy-to-wear.
Good morning everyone,
Up bright and early this morning and headed into the city for some hair touch up, a little shopping and an event this evening. In the meantime todays post is the second piece from my collaboration with Girl Cave Boutique. These jeans are lightweight and high waisted…very comfortable and distressed at the knee. I have chosen to pair them with a great sweatshirt from Banana Republic and a pair of shoes I have had for a while now from Dusica and Dusica.
Today’s oversized knit sweater is all about layering with the side slit. I love a great sweater and this one in particular is perfect all year round. Since it hasn’t been the warmest outside I layered a white tee and chambray shirt underneath. I just love how the open sides give visibility to the layering…especially on a day when the wind is blowing. On a warmer spring day I would not layer anything underneath it and instead, pair it with all white or a less distressed denim.
I am finishing up with my winter wardrobe and looking forward to starting my spring shopping. This is such a difficult time of year because we are still getting snow and as much as I want to start wearing lighter weight fabrics the weather does not want to cooperate!! We are off to a bright and sunny start to the day but we are still cold enough for snow here in New York. So for now, coats and sweaters are still in and those lightweight prints are on the back burner. Today I paired these checkered skinny jeans with my oversized white Moschino tee, which gives the outfit a lighter feel and added a leather paneled cardigan from J.Crew along with a black coat and my Miu Miu booties…I hope to be out of the winter mode soon.

What seems to work for me when I am dressing for the day is to choose in three's. Whether it be texture or pattern then, I like to add a splash of color somewhere in my outfit…it tends to make everything pop out at you. Since I am more of a neutral girl I don't go overboard with a lot of color. You will most often see me in shades of a neutral. When spring and summer come around I get a little more adventurous, but during the winter months I will play more with the textures and patterns in gray, black, cream, etc.
Cardigan: Mason by Michelle Mason /Boots: Sergio Rossi/ Necklace: Chan Luu
Thanks to everyone for being so patient while I was going through my grandfathers illness. I am very happy to say he has pulled through and is finally back home. Being back to work is great even though it is absolutely freezing outside. Today I am wearing my leather leggings with a simple white tee. I wanted to showcase my new Chan Luu necklace that I sooo love. The black tassel against the white makes it show up nicely. I wanted to wear this heavy duster by Mason but it was just a little to cold so, I put on a light weight black day coat underneath it and found it gave my outfit another dimension. And how about these Serigo Rossi over-the-knee boots?! I am OBSESSED. Mixed with my black beanie, the outfit gains a more hipster edge.

Transitioning into fall & winter means one thing for me: NEUTRALS! NEUTRALS! NEUTRALS!
