Olive Green

Hi everyone,

Rise and shine, the weather is so gorgeous today that I am not going to waste one second. I started my day with an early barre class, a quick coffee run and then going from there. You just can't resist getting out of the house and enjoying the day when it is so nice. Intermix is having a great sale with an additional 40% off, don't miss this one because you can find some really good deals and their clothing is beautiful. I recently purchased this olive green knit top already on sale plus with the additional percentage off, it was next to nothing and what a great day to wear it. This top is great to throw on with a pair of your favorite jeans, shorts, or even a cute skirt... fun and flirty. I added a calf hair belt for a little spark, my Chloe espadrilles and this choker, which was the second one of my moms I borrowed. Everything comes around again, don't be so quick to get rid of things and knowing it belongs to my mother, it's all that much more special. Below, shop my top sale picks from Intermix. Thanks for stopping by today!!

Get Graphic

Starting my Monday in this cowgirl/prairie like/floral patchwork tee from Coach. I literally could not decide on which one I wanted because they are all so adorable. The bold colors are the perfect statement for summer. I went with the white because I wanted to focus on the vibrant reds, and also because I wanted to pair my red Toga boots detailed with western buckles…I thought they were a perfect match for this look. This tee is also available in grey and also in an irresistibly soft sweatshirt.

I have on white shorts from Alice & Olivia today, but I also love the idea of red shorts (maybe with a different color shoe). For shorts on the dressier side and the perfect wide-leg trousers, Alice & Olivia is always my go to. I am mentioning the trousers because I think they would look really cool as well however, I would do a heel or wedge instead of a bootie. The other tee’s I was debating over are screen-printed with different ‘landscapes’ and are super unique. What I love most about today’s post is that all items/ similar items linked below can be mixed and matched with each other and also with several other colors.  I hope you enjoy. Have a wonderful week everyone!

Cold Shoulder

Hey everyone,

After feeling a little under the weather yesterday and in bed the entire day with allergies and a pretty bad migraine, today I'm a little better. So I am going to try to go about my day, keeping my fingers crossed. I have spoken before about how I am loving wearing sneakers lately, especially with cute dresses and this is one of them. This striped dress with the cold shoulders is the second striped one I bought from French Connection and it is perfect to wear with sneakers. The look is just simple and fresh, easy to wear just about anywhere and very comfortable. You can add a few accessories with it, I thought about a white fedora with a black ribbon which would have been adorable but the decided to forgo, pull my hair back and just keep the look all about the dress. So on the lookout for these since I am more of a dress girl anyway. Find your favorites, the prices range and this particular one was about $80.00. Not too bad and I would even wear this on a bike ride. You can shop this look and similar below. Have a great weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!

Pom Pom

I was shopping online recently and found these allover pom-pom overalls. I just had to get them because they were so different and cute, especially with the fringe along the bottom. Originally I wanted to pair them with pink but when I tried on this yellow top and then added the necklace it just felt like a breath of fresh air. After trying on a few different pair of sandals, I decided to go with these simple Kate Spade slip on's, they have a bit of fray to them, so I figured what a perfect match and the stones across the top are adorable. This is one of my favorite looks so far for the season. Simple, casual and cute…can't go wrong. I've also been doing some thinking about the things I wear and I've decided that I want to invest a little more in accessories to punch up my outfits. Where I would usually wear my David Yurman, I have started adding chunkier fun pieces of jewelry, purchasing a few new scarves and belts, plus I am just loving boater hats. Let's see where the summer takes me style wise, change is good and I want to try some new things. Let me know if you have any ideas or if there is anything in particular you would like to see. I always appreciate your thoughts and all of your support.

Pattern Play

This is the kind of summer dress we all search for. It can be worn just about anywhere…from a festival, to dinner, and during the day with sandals. The geometric pattern in pale blush on this mini is playful and light hearted and detailed with delicate straps and ruffles. If you are not into shorter dresses it is also available in an ankle length version. You literally cannot go wrong.

If you remember from a previous Instagram post I had ordered these sandals and they were way too small. I re-ordered them because I loved them so much and went an entire size bigger…and thank goodness I did because they just fit. These pink and orange leather crisscross strap sandals from MSGM match almost to perfect, and the royal blue in the straps adds a little extra touch. These also are available in white with green and black with yellow. Shop below:

Breezy In Blue

Well, it's back to a few days of chilly weather but luckily these photos were shot last week when it was much nicer and it's looking like it's going to change back soon, so yay for that because I am not in any hurry to go out and leave my comfy bed. I think I would rather just pull the covers up and hang right here for the day.

Today’s outfit screams summer with these wide leg wrap pants. I love how they move when the wind blows and the side slits allow for a little leg to show when you are walking, just a fun to wear summer pant. If this print may look a little familiar it is probably because it is very similar to the long pink maxi dress I wore a few weeks back (also shoppable below) Today I added a crop top with charming ties at the hem and a pair of wedges for a look that makes you feel like you belong at the ocean. I hope everyone gets through their Monday blues and enjoys the week. Thanks for stopping by.

A Bit of Knit

It's the weekend,

Although it's dreary out today,  I shot this outfit a couple of days ago. Because I am only 5 foot 2 I usually always wear heels, but lately I am so into sneakers and flats. I just love the way they look with dresses, skirts and just about everything these days, not to mention the comfort level. Today I paired them with this colorful dress from Mink Pink, which is a great throw on to just run errands and go about your day. I think I am more of a dress girl than pants so you will probably see this kind of look on me over the summer. I borrowed this straw hat from my mothers closet (thanks mom) and I seem to be adding to my hat collection a bit more. I have had my eye on these straw boater hats which I think are so cute. I've added some below for you to check out. These extra touches take your outfit from nice to really cute and eye catching. Thanks for stopping by today!

'Mona Lisa'

My latest reasoning/excuse as to why I need to buy something these days is that… “I have this gut feeling it is going to sell out” (we all know that is the absolute WORST) and sometimes you just can’t take that risk!!

That was the case with both these Chloe wedges and Mona Lisa graphic tee. I was seeing these shoes all over…and I pulled one of those “no I’ll wait”…but in reality what are we ever waiting for?! It was not until I went to finally try them on at Saks and every color was sold out in my size that I realized I had to have them.  Luckily I found them online in the olive color that I have been loving (phewww) As for the top…I went back and forth for awhile wondering if I wanted to spend the money on a graphic tee and finally just went for the splurge because I thought it was too cool to pass up.

I decided to pair both with these destroyed white denim shorts. I love white denim in the spring and summer because there is something so refreshing about it. I added this canvas pouch because the fabric and tassels mesh well with the print on the front of the tee. Today’s accessories are available in many other colors and styles. I hope you find them as cool as I do. Thanks for stopping by today!! You can shop this look below:

Hello everyone,

The weather here is finally nice so I'm full on with the spring and summer looks. After hosting an evening at the Rebecca Minkoff store in Soho, which I thought went very well and it was so nice meeting everyone, I received a box with all kinds of goodies from their PR people. The necklace and iPhone purse in this picture are two of those items.  I decided to wrap the purse around my waist like a fanny pack which I think looks adorable. They come in several colors and I had been looking at them for a while so it was pretty exciting when I got it as a gift. Every time an opportunity comes my way to do something with my blog I become more and more addicted to it, it's so much fun and I am so grateful for the chance to do what I love. Thank you Rebecca and staff for your interest in me and thank you to all of my followers for taking the time out of your day to support me…it would not be possible without each and every one of you. Today's outfit is just a simple sleeveless top and a pair of shorts which have a skirt feel to them but when I add this fun necklace and the purse it just changes the whole look to eye popping cuteness. I'm loving it, and you will find you can do the same with any of your own outfits by just adding a little creativity with things you have in your closet. To keep this outfit from running on pink overload I decided to pair it with a blue denim pump to give it a little balance. Shop below:

Another week means more outfits!!

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend and that all of the moms out there had a great mother’s day.

Today’s look is a short’s suit. I find them to be professional for the work environment, yet they are also timeless and flattering for spring and summer events.  I love tailored pieces like these because they have various styling options when worn as separates. The sophisticated and feminine pieces are the perfect touch. Shop today's look below:

A trench is the perfect topper this time of year when the weather is always changing. It is also a piece that can take you through all four seasons as you add or remove layers. With so many different styles available nothing will make you feel as ready to take on the rain. Shop my picks below…ranging from the classic style to wrap around, and even denim.

One and Done

Three words: One And Done.

The go to one piece is style simplified…no mixing or matching necessary. Slip into a striking jumpsuit then step out. My favorite part about wearing any style onsie is that it makes getting ready so much easier. You never have to run around searching for the perfect top or bottom. You pick out your shoes, add some jewls, and bam! You are done. You can grab your bag and out the door you go.

The romper I have on today is by Alexis. The entire line is so stunning. It has a lot going on in all the right ways as it comprises both ruffles and lace (my favorite.) Since it is a little on the dressier side I based my picks below on pieces that make a statement. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by!!

Birds of a Feather

Feathers always add femininity, glam, and of course movement to any look. Today they prove sweaters can be special too. Instead of pairing your jeans and pumps with your average sweater, sometimes it is fun to find different pieces that add that unique touch. This cashmere shell from J.Crew does just that…detailed with playful feathers at the bottom. I decided to wear a blouse underneath for a finishing touch and more relaxed look. Shop this look below:

Offbeat Chic

First and foremost thank you SO much to everyone who attended my first event at Rebecca Minkoff!! I was beyond happy with the turnout and I am so grateful for the opportunity. I loved meeting and chatting with some of my followers and it is so amazing to see the huge impact social media has today…connecting people from all over with similar interests. I cannot imagine life without it (I am a serious Instagram addict)

I told everyone I would put all of my outfit details from my event the other night on the blog. I usually do not do outfit posts on the weekend…but why wait?! This is the Judith dress from Minkoff of course (one of my current fav’s…but then again so is everything in the store) I love the shoulder cut-outs and the flowy texture. It is just perfect. I decided to pair it with booties instead of heels because 1. I knew I was going to be on my feet for a while and 2. They add a hint of realness to this angel-like dress.

This style is available in a few other colors and there is also the “Robbie” style, which is very similar and offered in a floral print. I went ahead and picked out some of my favorite pieces currently available and you can shop them below:

Tomboy Tailoring

T.G.I.F

I have been meaning to mention this for a while now, and you probably don’t need me to tell you that a white tee is a closet essential (duh.) HOWEVER, if you are over-using this basic and most overlooked item…it may be time to invest in a new, clean, and crisp white tee. I mean, think about it…it has the most versatility out of anything you own. It takes you to the gym, to get coffee, to the office, and even out at night..am I right?!

There is nothing like being casual and comfortable…especially at the end of a long week. Today I decided to pair MY new white tee from Splendid with my newest go-to jeans, a gingham blazer, and signature Puma kicks. A perfect casual Friday if you ask me.

I am headed into the city for a Rebecca Minkoff event tonight. You are invited to come join me at the new store in Soho from 6-8 pm for styling tips, 20% off, and a chance to win a free handbag!! I hope you can make it and I look forward to seeing many of you there!! Have a great weekend everyone!!

PLEATS PLEASE!!

Today I am pairing a light and flowy top with jeans, pumps, and a leather jacket for a casual street look. The yellow top gets its delicate feel from row upon row of pleats. It is still a little chilly out these days...hence the leather jacket (which also offers an edgy vibe)

The yellow and blue tones in today’s outfit just so happen to match my new bag from Henri Bendel perfectly!! This style is the West 57th Satchel in Black Multi and it will be available VERY SOON!! It is one of my favorites because it is so striking!! Stayed tuned for additional posts because I will be sure to keep everyone in the loop when it is available.

This look is one that is easy very to mimic. Mostly everyone owns a leather jacket (it is a closet staple must) All you have to do is find a pleated top and add a pair of pumps…even sandals. Shop my look below:

Faded Pinstripes

Springy and casual for a beautiful Wednesday afternoon!! I paired a classic silhouette pinstripe button up with white jeans…and check out these awesome espadrilles!! The BIGGEST thank you to the Rebecca Minkoff team for a pair of their studded flats in bright coral. I am obsessed!! Pops of color are bound to make a difference in your outfits and wardrobe this spring (and pretty much all year long) Shop today’s look below:

The best part about the piece? It is fun and easy to wear. You can literally do anything you want with it. From neon colors to prints and patterns...the LWD can handle it all.

This lace up shift dress by JOA is detailed with a front tie closure and front patch pockets. I decided to add a little bit of both black and leopard throughout with my accessories. Shop the look below:

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Today I decided to share one of my favorite skirts!! It is a little older now but I am still as in love with it as I was the day I bought it. I love mini skirts…especially ruffled and layered ones for spring and summer. They are stylish, youthful, and have so many styling options.

This one from Alice & Olivia I actually wore on my 22nd birthday. Black floral appliqués dress up the scalloped tiers of the party-ready skirt. It may remind you a little bit of an older post I did Heart of Gold (another favorite of mine).

This skirt is  unfortunately no longer available, but I went ahead and picked out a few other adorable tiered skirts for the season. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone,

Well, as you have seen on my Instagram, I just got back from Aruba and I had the most amazing and relaxing time. Every year I take two or three vacations with my family and we have been there several times because the Island has the best food, nicest people and pretty much guaranteed great weather. Two years ago we stayed at the brand new Ritz Carlton, which we loved but it is very quiet so this year we decided to go back to the Marriott Stellaris where there is much more activity. The grounds are beautiful and the sun was sizzling, so much so that we had to spend a little less time than usual on the beach. You are right at the equator so you can just imagine how great the weather really is. I cannot say enough about the food and we have several restaurants we frequent, never being disappointed.

We kept it a little more low key than usual this year not fussing as much for dinner, more sandals less on the heels, hair and makeup, which was kind of nice but doesn't always make for the best pics so I will restyle and repost some of my outfits when weather permits. In the meantime I'm back in the Northeast and back on the blog.

I wish I had this maxi dress while in Aruba…it just screams for clear blue water and pink sand. It has that princess feel to it with the flowy bottom. I paired it with pink pumps, and a light blue Edie Parker clutch for a little more color. I hope you like it as much as I do! You can get this look below.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Love Lauren
