Drawing The Line

Jumpsuit:TopShop|Top:TopShop|Boots:Saint Laurent (older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

How awesome is this faux leather jumpsuit from TopShop?! (I told you…I am obsessed these days) It is a pretty edgy piece so I decided to stick to monochrome tones. The clean lines and black crewneck add a bold touch to this look.

These boots from Saint Laurent are no longer available but I picked out a few pair I love just as much that would also work with this outfit. I found a pair at TopShop that are SO similar to my favorite Louboutin boots (but in suede). You can find them listed below! Alsohere is a little good news to brighten up your Tuesday- A sale at Shopbop starts today. 25% off for 3 days only. Use code INTHEFAME25 with your order. Happy Shopping!

Don't Even Care

Sweatshirt:Etre Cecile| Jeans:Etre Cecile| Boots:Saint Laurent

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Monday got me….

Not Even Caring.

I have been finding some really amazing patchwork pieces online recently, especially in denim. Some splurge worthy and others so inexpensive…either way both end up being TOO GOOD to pass up.

Today’s jeans have a vintage look to them, but the plaid patch adds a preppy feel. I love pairing white button-ups under sweaters and sweatshirts so it worked out perfectly! When it came to shoes…I was debating between Adidas sneakers and my gold boots. Although both would work, I love how the gold looks mixed with the yellow in the plaid. I went ahead and picked out some other really cool patchwork jeans and graphic tee’s and sweatshirts. Shop below! And enjoy your week!

Easily Suede

I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago to the preview of the Rag and Bone capsule collection for Intermix. The Pope was in town (AKA lot’s of traffic) and as I was rushing out the door to catch my Uber my sister snapped a few quick photos for me. I previously posed one on Instagram, but didn’t think it did the trick of showing off the outfit…so here we are!

One of the hottest trends right now is suede, and there is just soo much you can do with it. Whether it be layering it up (suede on suede), adding suede shoes, or if you are a festival girl…the obvious fringe and tassels! Think chic nude, tan, burnt orange, mustard, and even burgundy. I decided to pair a lace blouse with my brown suede shorts, and then added my new favorite patchwork suede ankle boots, which tie in all of the perfect colors for fall. Below, shop similar alternatives. Thanks for stopping by. XOXO

Well Red

Dress:Christophe Sauvat|Boots: Maje x Minnetonka |Clutch:Isabella Fiore (older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

If you have been following my blog and Instagram account then you know about these awesome over-the-knee boots. For those of you who are new- first of all welcome!! And second, these are from the Minnetonka X Maje collaboration.  Boots can be so expensive…so it’s awesome when you find a pair that are so reasonably priced.

The fringe on the back give the modern boots such a boho feel, so it only made sense to pair them with a flowy dress. The one I have on today is by Christoph Sauvat. The red printed dress is detailed with button closures, self-tie tassels, and beads.

Right now, most of the sizes in every color of the boots are sold out, but the good news is you can sign up to receive an email when they are back in stock. I went through and picked out some of my favorite similar style dresses that can also be paired with these boots. Shop Below & enjoy!

Fall Magic

Sweater:TopShop|Pants:TopShop|Shoes:TopShop(Similar)|Bag:Mansur Gavriel (sold out)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

You can expect to see me in a lot of TopShop this fall. I have been finding the pieces to be the perfect mix between the catwalk and the street. Today’s entire ensemble is indeed- TopShop.

I paired this cropped retro sweater with ivory trousers. There are a lot of details in these pieces that just seem to work even though they are different styles. From the black tassels on the sweater, button details on the pant pockets, and even the wrap-around tie fastening on the shoes…there is definitely some fall magic happening here.

Side note: These shoes were a favorite of mine last season and I could not be happier to see them yet again this year in suede and all different colors!! Shop this look and similar below!

Boom

Sweatshirt:MSGM|Skirt:Derek Lam (last seen here)|Pumps:Alexandre Birman(older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

And just like that….BOOM… it's Monday again.

I love graphic tee's for the summer but when the weather starts to cool down I like to look for graphic sweatshirts and other layering pieces for the fall and winter. These pullovers (that come in various styles) can be our answer to in-between-seasons dressing, but more importantly statement pieces that can be paired with unexpected separates.

I paired this sweatshirt from MSGM with a checkered, knit skirt from Derek Lam (one of my favorites.) I think it adds a really cool element to this look, not to mention the color red is always so striking.  Shop more from this look below.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

True Blues

Chambray Shirt:J.Crew|Jacket:Current Elliott (Similar)|Jeans:Rag & Bone|Booties:Saint Laurent

Dino Petrocelli Photography

When all else fails- Denim over everything. Today’s all denim look is broken up by a black leather belt and my favorite new gold booties.

We all have those different products we are willing to spend money on and those we are not. Designer denim has become a ‘thing’ for a while now (along with a lot of other merchandise) but we can’t forget about the awesome alternatives available. Today I did something a little different and found some great, similar, and more affordable pieces. Shop Below:

New Neutral

Romper:Rag&Bone|Clutch:Lanvin (older)|Pumps:Christian Louboutin|Choker:Eddie Borgo|Necklace:Alex Bittar

Dino Petrocelli Photography

With summer coming to a close and fall right around the corner we all have one thing in mind…transitional dressing. Sometimes it can be the worst especially when it comes to shoes!!

When I think about shifting into fall, I start to wear more neutrals. It is important to remember there are more neutrals than just your black, gray, and beige shades. Think olive green, mustard yellow, burgundy, etc.

It is still very hot out so I am sticking to cooler clothing for now. When the temperature starts to change, a silk romper like the one I am wearing today can easily be paired with an oversized sweater.

You Make Me Blush

Co-Ord-Asos|Blouse:Anne Fontaine|Bag:Chloe(sold out)|Booties:Reed Krakoff(older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Co-ords have been such a popular trend lately. Whether it is due to the fact they can be worn any time of the day, on any occasion, or maybe because they have an awesome print…

My reason for this set? I love that the tailored vest and wide-leg culottes are not your average and predictable skirt and crop top. Originally I planned on wearing the vest with a silk neck scarf, but I love the white blouse combination. The double collar on this one adds a chic and sophisticated touch.  I kept my accessories to a minimum today and added my Faye small shoulder bag by Chloé for a more refined look.

When it comes to wearing color I am such a pink girl or in this case…blush. If you are more of a neutral girl…be sure to check out the silver gray version below along with similar items!! Happy shopping!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Varsity Mesh

Trousers:Zara(older)|Knit Bomber:J.O.A.| Bag:Fendi|Sandals:Collection Privee

Dino Petrocelli Photography

With summer coming to end, there are some really great deals out there.  Starting with Intermix, now 50% off sale, check it out.  I was able to get these great sandals for only $64.00. I found this J.O.A. Varsity mesh sweater at Urban Outfitters and these adorable print trousers were from Zara. Putting this outfit together was so easy...I just added a tank from Banana Republic and jewelry by Chan Luu and Alexis Bittar. Hair up in a pony and my new monster bag for a touch of fun. I found this outfit to be perfect for a day when I'm running errands. Casual, fun and comfortable...unfortunately these items are already gone but I have found similar items I have listed below to make it easy.  I also thought you might like a couple recommendations which are favorites of mine just in case you might be thinking of a warm weather get away as the seasons begin to change. Selections go quickly so get them while you can...

Happy Shopping!!

Heart of Gold

NYC Street Style

Blouse:J.Crew|Skirt:Alice&Olivia|Boots:Chanel

Dino Petrocelli Photography

I tend to forget how unexpected and cool gold outfits and accessories can be. Most people only experiment with sparkles and sequins around the holidays, but there are so many different ways to incorporate gold into your look.  I have had this skirt in my closet for so long and have never had the chance to wear it. It was a sample sale find at Alice and Olivia. When I got these Chanel pink felt short boots for my birthday I could not wait to pull it out!! They are probably one of my favorite editions to my fall wardrobe so far and they added just the right amount of color to this fun look. I was able to tone the skirt down a bit by pairing it with a white blouse, yet the gold hearts keep the outfit cohesive.

Don’t be afraid to add the sparkle or sequin for day wear and remember... “A little party never killed nobody”.

Act Natural

So happy to be back on the blog today, yet so sad summer is coming to an end. I just got back from vacation on Saturday and I am missing the beach oh soo much. The weather was perfect and I am not looking forward to the winter.

Today I am wearing an ivory tunic (now on sale), which actually fits as a dress on me. It is VERY oversized and has a polo/tennis feel to it. The contrasting ribbon stripes make it very easy to pair with all of your favorite neutral accessories, which is why I added my two-tone Reed bag to bring in some other colors. The dress is also available in black. Shop this look below:

Wide Leg Trousers

Trousers:Alice & Olivia (sample sale find)|Top:Banana Republic (older)

Dino Petrocelli Photography

Let’s hear it for wide-leg trousers!! I picked up this pair at an Alice and Olivia sample sale a few months ago in the city.

There is a certain swagger to the large amounts of fabric…and endless styling options. This orange pair sits very high on the waist and since I am not the biggest fan of crop tops I went with a loose tank and rolled it under. The glitter on the top adds enough adornment so I decided no necklace. By keeping the top half simple and high wedges on on bottom makes this look very easy-to-wear.

A Fresh Take

TGIF.

I just love a great mini skirt especially the combination of colors in this one. This flower print mini can be dressed up or down but I went with neutral sandals for a casual Friday look. The tasseled cuff on this pair adds a playful personality to an already fun summer skirt. The skirt sits pretty high on the waist so a knotted tee adds a fresh take on the average crop top today.

What are everyone’s plans for the weekend?! I arrived in the city last night with my boyfriend and plan on celebrating my 24th birthday this weekend with my sister and best friends!! I can’t wait! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!!

XoXo

Fine Print

Every time you “have nothing to wear” are your black and white pieces your go-to?! I know for me I feel like I can always depend on my all black or all white outfit’s last minute. There is something faultless and reassuring about simple black and white and todays outfit combines the two.

After purchasing my first Tanya Taylor piece last fall, I fell in love with the line.  There is something very feminine and chic about her garments. I love this dress in particular not only because of the fine print, but because of the style as well. It is almost trendy and elegant at the same time with the A-line hem and the cut-out shoulders. I added my black and white contrast leather pumps and went for a little jewelry change…switching up my usual Yurman chain for my Alexis Bitter crescent necklace.

Ready to Romp

Sometimes all you need is something as small as a belt to transform an outfit. When first picking out this look I kept going back to my hot pink Louboutin pumps, but was getting pink overload. When I held up a belt I recently bought I knew it was the missing piece. Although this two-tone belt from Maje came in for the fall I love the texture it adds along with denim and burgundy tones. Pleated Poise

Top:T by Alexander Wang(sold out)|Skirt: Derek Lam 10 Crosby(sold out)|Sneakers:Zara

Dino Petrocelli Photography

I have had this mini skirt from A.L.C. for so long now and could never seem to pair it with the right top/shoes. The top part of the skirt is actually a gray sweatshirt material and then finished off with chic white pleats at the bottom. After purchasing this muscle tank by Alexander Wang (also sweatshirt material) I wanted to try it on “just to see what it would look like” with the skirt and I ended up loving the combo. It is sporty yet still girly. For shoes I went with a pair of white slip-on hightops from Zara.

For those who are wondering about this super cool necklace…it was a present from Ellie Vail Jewelry (www.ellievail.com) I am so obsessed with it and have been wearing it nonstop. When I had on this outfit I knew this had to be the necklace for it. The heartbeat rhythm reminded me of the black graphic tee I wanted oh sooo bad from Alexander Wang with the red heartbeat circling it from front to back.

And last but not least…today let me formally introduce you to KARLITO!! I just love him. He was an early birthday gift from my mother (you da bomb Gail). I added him to my mustard color Givenchy bag for a pop of color and fun.  Shop similar below.

New World of Coach

Coach Sunnies, Mini Rhyder Bag, Key Ring

 Dino Petrocelli Photography

I feel like it has been forever since I have posted, but guess what…IM BACK!! I hope everyone has been enjoying these beautiful summer days. I cannot believe it is almost the middle of August already…the summer is flying by.

Thanks to Coach I get to enjoy the rest of my summer in style with my new blue aviators and metallic Mini Rhyder bag. I added my new accessories to a beachy and laidback look. I stayed pretty neutral with colors today and let the shimmer of the metallic pebble leather do all of the talking. I also attached a mixed-metal star key ring to my new bag because it adds a playful touch. This bag can be hand-carried or worn with the long strap (which I prefer). I have been investing in more bags that are crossbody style because they are so much easier in the middle of the hustle and bustle of New York City.

I Hope everyone has a great week!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Xoxo Lauren

Easy Breezy

Two Words: One Piece. An easy and must-have item for those brutal HHH days (hazy, hot and humid) as my photographer Dino Petrocelli would say. Once you find the perfect playsuit the rest of your work is easy. The one I am wearing today is by a brand called Eternal Sunshine Creations. It is very breezy and has a boho feel to it…very effortless yet still chic. For short styles like this, sandals and cute flats are an easy addition. Add your favorite sunnies and you are ready to take on the heat!
