Happy Hump Day!
We are getting to that point of summer where all pre-fall is hitting stores and the Internet and all summer clothing is going on sale. What I hate the most about this time of year is that one part of me wants to keep buying clothes for this season (especially because I am going away next week) but the other half of me does not. We are almost at boot and coat season… and we know how expensive these purchases can be.
The dress I have on today is an end of summer sale purchase. I think it one piece that will bring me into early fall with its deep colors and longer hemline. Tassel jewelry is kind of a thing right now, so it only makes sense I polished off todays look with a fun and lightweight necklace and light brown frames for a little drama.

Lightweight sweaters are the best for chilly nights and cool mornings in the summer. The fringe hem on this knit makes it perfect for layering other pieces and also gives it a little boho twist. My two major accessories today are a chiffon necktie (which can be worn multiple ways) and a beaded tassel necklace. They add a semi vintage-inspired statement to this textured sweater. I am all pink today (my favorite color!!) This is another outfit I purchased from the crazy sale happening at Intermix. Both this sweater and these shorts are now marked under $100.
This sweater is a pretty pink rib crew neck that can be worn all year and layered into any look and I paired it today with these tailored jacquard shorts. I love the charm and subtle beauty of the pattern because it is so glamorous and does not need any further embellishment (unless you want to add it of course). I have been seeing very similar pieces out for the fall and a ton of heavy and luxurious fabrics combined into both clothing and accessories. This is definitely a trend to look for. Hi Everyone!!
It's almost the weekend again, I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday. Unfortunately, I spent most of it working but that's ok, it's for the future., other than that I spent what was left with family and friends. I'm looking forward to getting back down to the shore and plans are in the making. We have been going as a family to Long Beach Island, New Jersey since I was a child. LBI is just so beautiful, relaxing and a place we can all get together and just hang out in a pair of shorts and a tee, go for a bike ride, happy hour or to the beach…I cannot wait.
Today's outfit is a combination of old and new. I have on a white tee that I paired with a blush vest and leather wrap necklace I borrowed from my mom. I love the vibe of these three pieces together…very cool yet still chic. I finally got my hands on a pair of cropped flare jeans. I found this pair at H&M. I love the raw hem (and the price makes them even better). This style pant looks great with tailored pieces and block heels for an off-duty denim style. Pure Jeanius.

Rise and shine, the weather is so gorgeous today that I am not going to waste one second. I started my day with an early barre class, a quick coffee run and then going from there. You just can't resist getting out of the house and enjoying the day when it is so nice. My latest reasoning/excuse as to why I need to buy something these days is that… “I have this gut feeling it is going to sell out” (we all know that is the absolute WORST) and sometimes you just can’t take that risk!!
That was the case with both these Chloe wedges and Mona Lisa graphic tee. I was seeing these shoes all over…and I pulled one of those “no I’ll wait”…but in reality what are we ever waiting for?! It was not until I went to finally try them on at Saks and every color was sold out in my size that I realized I had to have them. Luckily I found them online in the olive color that I have been loving (phewww) As for the top…I went back and forth for awhile wondering if I wanted to spend the money on a graphic tee and finally just went for the splurge because I thought it was too cool to pass up.
I decided to pair both with these destroyed white denim shorts. I love white denim in the spring and summer because there is something so refreshing about it. I added this canvas pouch because the fabric and tassels mesh well with the print on the front of the tee. Today’s accessories are available in many other colors and styles. Today’s shirtdress is one of my recent favorites…mostly because of how feminine it is. The tiered ruffle hem is dainty and chic and looks absolutely adorable when you put a little pep in your step.
My accessories add pops of pink throughout this look. This hand-beaded scarf necklace is one I have admired since I first saw it at Intermix over the summer. And then…a few weeks ago I was getting my hair done at Brush NYC and got talking to the lady next to me about these amazing earrings she had. It ended up being Mignonne Gavigan, the designer of the line. She invited me to her showroom and I came home with some stunning pieces, which you can expect to see this week. While in the showroom, I also got to preview the Spring/Summer 16 pieces and I CANNOT wait…especially for one piece in particular. I will provide more information throughout the week. My reason for this set? I love that the tailored vest and wide-leg culottes are not your average and predictable skirt and crop top. Originally I planned on wearing the vest with a silk neck scarf, but I love the white blouse combination. The double collar on this one adds a chic and sophisticated touch. I kept my accessories to a minimum today and added my Faye small shoulder bag by Chloé for a more refined look.

I just love a great mini skirt especially the combination of colors in this one. This flower print mini can be dressed up or down but I went with neutral sandals for a casual Friday look. The tasseled cuff on this pair adds a playful personality to an already fun summer skirt. The skirt sits pretty high on the waist so a knotted tee adds a fresh take on the average crop top today.

Tonal tassels are a go today. They add a subtle yet adorable element to this set by J.O.A. (which I may add is soo reasonably priced!) The tank has a cropped silhouette and the high-waisted skort is shaped by a wrap-style, creating the skirt in the front/ shorts in the back look. I have had this sky blue leather skirt for so long and could never seem to put together an outfit that satisfied me. However, when I tried it on with my Joie plaid button down I loved the combination of colors. I thought the outfit looked way more chic with the shirt loosely tucked in and unbuttoned at the top. All I kept thinking when I had this on is...I do not want to look like an Easter egg!! I thought my denim pumps prevented this oh so awful situation and added a striking contrast.

I wore this outfit to an event last week and unfortunately I didn’t take many pictures in it. I am so in love with this dress so I HAD to make sure it went up on the blog. The cut is so feminine with the drop-waist ruffle and sheer fabric. It looks so beautiful when it flows in the wind. It feels like such a princess dress!! The crazy part is I wasn’t wild about it until I tried it on…and I immediately fell in love. Have you ever had the problem where you have an outfit and are running around like a madman last minute searching for shoes for it?? I feel like this would have been one of those outfits if I did not have these mesh Louboutin pumps. They could not have been more of a PERFECT match. For a bag I went with a faded rose-colored Chloé shoulder bag and tucked the straps in to use as a clutch. It looks so nice against the pale pink giving it a bolder color.
